In a fit of nostalgia, but more likely archaeological research, I have decided to explore some of the cultural phenomena that was happening when I was just a kid. Case in point: The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I can't imagine anyone growing up in the 70's without remembering this movie poster, and the imagery from the film. For those not up to speed on the Rocky Horror Picture Show, just take a look and get the story. In high school I had a chance to check out a midnight showing of the movie, in a conservative suburb of gulfcoast FLA, and the fans that were there were there in force, yelling at the screen, throwing stuff, and just goofing along.
So much for my experience with Rocky Horror, and 20 years later, I'm trying to find another midnight showing to get up to date on what's happening. If fetishistic glammy rock musicals appeal to you, then maybe you should check up on it too. I recently got the soundtrack to begin my descent into madness, and its highly entertaining.

Really, there is no way to encapsulate 25 years of weirdness in the blog, so why try? Just check your local indie weekly newspaper, find the showing times, and check it out.
